President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has announced that the first smart classrooms in the Maldives will be established at Majeediyya School. He made this announcement during his speech at the inauguration ceremony of Majeediyya School's "Centennial Building" held tonight.
According to President Muizzu, among the school projects planned for next year is the construction of a new building with 40 classrooms at Majeediyya School, to be built on the former site of Dharumavantha School. Some of these classrooms will be the first smart classrooms to be established in the Maldives.
Additionally, the President stated that it has been decided to develop Darul Uloom Kuriboshi, a pride of Majeediyya School's senior students, into a National Education Museum. He said this would provide information about the Maldives' historical educational life to future generations.
During the ceremony, President Muizzu emphasized the importance of education and the need for perseverance in achieving success. He also stressed the importance of students serving the nation.
After the ceremony, the President visited a photo exhibition being held in the Darul Uloom Hall of Majeediyya School. Majeediyya School is the oldest educational institution in the Maldives, and the "Centennial Building" symbolizes the school's academic legacy.
The President also highlighted that the purpose of education is to prepare oneself to serve the nation, build one's own life, and contribute beneficially to society. He encouraged students to think about how they can contribute to the country and prepare themselves for that purpose.
