Mystery Tour Takes Hong Kong Travelers on Surprise Maldives Adventure

ree

In a groundbreaking travel initiative, AirAsia and Hong Kong-based CLS Holiday have launched Asia's first blind-box style tour, whisking away 20 adventurous guests on an unexpected journey to the Maldives. The innovative "No Clue Escape" package took off from Hong Kong today, with participants unaware of their final destination until mid-flight.

The mystery tour, announced last month, invited travelers to sign up for an unknown getaway. It wasn't until the group was airborne on AirAsia flight AK139 from Hong Kong to Kuala Lumpur that the tropical paradise was revealed as their destination. To build anticipation, AirAsia provided special blind boxes and unique souvenirs to each guest, with the cabin crew dramatically unveiling the location through an entertaining in-flight announcement.

The group, which includes Hong Kong singer Endy Chow and several social media influencers, departed Hong Kong International Airport at 11:55 AM. Their journey includes a stopover in Kuala Lumpur before continuing to the Maldives. During their five-day stay, guests will reside at Bandos Maldives, explore the capital Malé, and indulge in various sea excursions and relaxation activities.

This unique promotion, a collaboration between AirAsia and CLS Holiday, aims to showcase AirAsia's extensive network and promote its brand message of "Small Win, Big Happiness." The airline hopes to encourage Hong Kong travelers to explore new destinations through convenient transfers, highlighting that its affordable fares can connect passengers to over 130 destinations across Asia, Australia, and Africa.

The attractively priced package, offered at HKD 4,888 (including tax), covers return airfares with 20 kg of luggage, meals, accommodation, and local transportation. The limited spots were quickly snapped up, demonstrating Hong Kong travelers' enthusiasm for novel experiences.

Terence So, AirAsia's Head of Marketing for Greater China, expressed excitement about the event's success and praised CLS Holiday for designing an itinerary that aligns with AirAsia's brand spirit. Frankie Chow, Founder of CLS Holiday, thanked the media for their coverage and AirAsia for their support, expressing hope for future collaborations to bring more innovative travel products to the Hong Kong market.

CLS Holiday, a new venture by Flyagain Travel Limited, is part of the well-known travel website Flyagain.la. The Hong Kong to Maldives flight utilizes AirAsia's FlyThru service, allowing seamless connections without the need to collect bags at the transit hub.

AirAsia currently operates direct flights from Hong Kong and Macau to various destinations in Southeast Asia. The airline is set to launch its first flights to Jakarta and Bali, Indonesia, this October, becoming the first low-cost carrier to provide direct services between Hong Kong and Indonesia.

This blind-box tour concept not only offers an exciting new way to travel but also showcases the expanding reach of budget airlines in connecting Asian destinations, potentially reshaping how travelers approach their vacation planning in the future.
