Rainy Weather Continues in Maldives: Heavy Rain and Thunderstorm Warnings for Some Areas

According to the Maldives Meteorological Service (Met Office), various parts of the country experienced heavy rainfall over the past 24 hours.


Particularly in the Male' area, there was significant rainfall, with Hulhule receiving 118 millimeters of rain. Additionally, Male' and Hulhumale received 85 millimeters of rain, while Aa. Thoddoo received 101.8 millimeters.


The Met Office forecasts that rainy weather will continue in different parts of the country today. Some areas are expected to experience heavy rain and possible thunderstorms. A white alert has been issued for the area from L. Atoll to Addu City, warning of heavy rain and thunderstorms until 2:30 PM today.


Furthermore, the Met Office predicts wind speeds to reach up to 40 miles per hour in squalls. Seas are expected to be moderately rough, with rougher conditions in squall areas.


In light of these conditions, the Met Office has issued warnings to the public. People are advised to be extra cautious when traveling and to follow the guidelines provided by relevant authorities.
