WAMCO Clinches Fourth Consecutive Milo VAM Cup Women's Volleyball Title

In a thrilling display of skill and determination, WAMCO Club has secured its fourth straight championship in the Milo VAM Cup women's division volleyball tournament. The final match, organized by the Volleyball Association of Maldives, saw Vemco face off against Police Club in an intense battle for the top spot.

The championship game, held at the Youth Center indoor court, was a nail-biting affair that kept spectators on the edge of their seats. WAMCO emerged victorious with a 3-1 set victory, clinching the match with scores of 25-19, 25-23, 13-25, and 25-21.

The opening set witnessed a strong start from WAMCO, who initially surged ahead with a 6-0 lead. However, Police Club demonstrated remarkable resilience, fighting back to level the score at 12-12. Despite this comeback, WAMCO managed to close out the first set 25-19 in their favor.

As the match progressed, both teams showcased their prowess on the court. WAMCO narrowly claimed the second set 25-23, while Police Club bounced back to dominate the third set 25-13. The final set saw Vemco regain control, securing a 25-21 victory and, with it, the championship title.

Individual performances were also recognized at the event. Majida from WAMCO was named the final match's Most Valuable Player, while Masa from Police Club earned the title of Most Promising Player. Vemco's coach, Ahmed Adil, was honored as the Best Coach of the tournament.

Hawwa Majida from WEMCO was crowned the tournament's Overall Most Valuable Player for the second consecutive year, cementing her status as a dominant force in Maldivian women's volleyball.

The tournament's Dream Team selection highlighted the exceptional talent on display, featuring players from various clubs. The lineup included Majida, Juzan, Maya, and Faiha Mohamed from WEMCO, Hawwa and Mariyam Azma from Police Club, and Aminath Riyasha from Volleyball Youth New Generation.

This victory marks a continuation of WEMCO's dominance in the Milo VAM Cup, as they have now defeated Police Club in the finals for four years running. The consistent success of WEMCO Club underscores their position as a powerhouse in Maldivian women's volleyball, setting a high standard for competition in future tournaments.
